30-Year-Old Allegedly Kills 62-Year-Old with Stick in Western North

A 30-year-old man, Ibrahim Mohammed, has been arrested for allegedly murdering 62-year-old Seidu Mumuni by striking him on the head with a stick.
The tragic incident happened on Thursday night at Sehwi Yawmatwa in the Bia West District of the Western North Region.
According to eyewitnesses, Ibrahim, believed to be under the influence of drugs, launched an unprovoked attack on Seidu Mumuni after the latter tried to stop him from harassing children in the area.
Ibrahim’s assault caused fatal injuries, and despite being rushed to the hospital, Seidu Mumuni was pronounced dead on arrival.
Furious residents apprehended the suspect and subjected him to severe beatings before handing him over to the police. Due to the extent of his injuries, he was taken to Essam Government Hospital for medical care under police guard.
The Assemblyman for Sehwi Yawmatwa, Abass Mohammed Ayariga, confirmed that the suspect had long been a source of concern in the community, especially when under the influence of drugs.
Police have launched an investigation, while the victim’s body has been deposited at the Essam Government Hospital morgue.
