Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr will be unavailable for the Champions League match against Liverpool due to a hamstring injury.
The Brazilian played the full match in Real Madrid’s 3-0 La Liga victory over Leganes on Sunday. However, he has now been ruled out of the upcoming game as Madrid prepares to face Liverpool, who are currently at the top of the Champions League table.
The La Liga club announced a 19-man traveling squad for the trip to Anfield, and Vinicius Jr was notably absent due to an injury to the biceps femoris in his left leg. Reports from Spanish newspaper Marca suggest that he could be sidelined for approximately three weeks, but Real Madrid has not confirmed the exact severity of the injury.
Following the announcement, Vinicius Jr took to X, stating, “Crazy calendar. Time to recover.”
In addition to Vinicius, Liverpool may also be without defender Trent Alexander-Arnold for the match. The England right-back missed Sunday’s 3-2 win against Southampton due to a hamstring injury sustained prior to the international break.
