- Alleged NDC task force members disrupted Joseph Yamin's press conference in the Ashanti Region
- Protesters accused party leadership of inaction on military impersonation and ballot box rigging claims
- The press briefing ended in chaos as microphones were knocked down and media ordered to leave
A press conference led by National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Organizer, Joseph Yamin, turned chaotic as some alleged members of the party’s internal task force disrupted the event in protest.
The disgruntled supporters expressed frustration over what they described as the leadership’s failure to address claims of individuals allegedly impersonating military personnel across 32 constituencies in the Ashanti Region.
The NDC had earlier alleged that disguised vehicles were being used to deploy military officers to 34 constituencies, coupled with claims of ballot box importation aimed at election rigging.
In his address, Joseph Yamin vowed the party would not condone the use of the military to create unrest.
However, the protesters, dissatisfied with the leadership’s response, forcefully interrupted the briefing, knocking down microphones and demanding media personnel vacate the venue.
This incident highlights rising tensions within the NDC ranks in the region ahead of the elections.
