Tension is escalating in the Western North Region after reports surfaced that 10 ballot boxes went missing during the electoral process.
The development has sparked outrage among voters and political representatives. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP for Juaboso, has vowed to oppose any attempts to tamper with the election results.
Akandoh criticized the Electoral Commission (EC), calling it the “poorest election” in the constituency’s history. He reassured voters that the NDC is vigilantly monitoring the situation to prevent any manipulation of the election outcomes.
“We have already secured the results at the polling stations, documented on the pink sheets. The EC should not think they can take these 10 ballot boxes, alter their contents, and expect us to stay silent. This will not happen,” he declared.
With the collation of results currently on hold, stakeholders are demanding a swift investigation into the missing ballots. Security forces have been deployed to safeguard the process and maintain order amid growing concerns.
