Finance Minister Dr. Ato Forson has stressed the urgent need for sweeping economic reforms to accelerate Ghana’s journey toward upper middle-income status by 2038.

Speaking at the National Economic Dialogue in Accra, he warned that without ambitious measures, Ghana may not reach this milestone until well beyond 2025.

“We cannot afford to wait until 2050 to achieve upper middle-income status. Immediate and comprehensive reforms are essential,” Dr. Forson stated.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enacting transformative policies to reset and strengthen the economy, ensuring sustainable growth and development.

The dialogue, bringing together policymakers, economists, and business leaders, aims to craft strategies for long-term economic stability.
