President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has criticized former President John Dramani Mahama, stating that his administration is remembered solely for “Dumsor” (persistent power outages).
Speaking at Drobonso during his three-day tour of the Ashanti Region, President Akufo-Addo said Mahama’s poor economic management was the reason Ghanaians denied him a second term in office.
“Former presidents like Rawlings and Kufuor both served two terms. I, Akufo-Addo, have also been given a second term, but John Mahama was denied that chance because of his bad economic management,” the President remarked.
He further compared the legacies of past presidents, noting, “When you mention Rawlings, Ghanaians think of the District Assembly concept. For Kufuor, it is the National Health Insurance Scheme. For me, it is Free SHS. But when you mention Mahama, the only thing Ghanaians remember is ‘Dumsor’.”
President Akufo-Addo concluded by urging Ghanaians to reject Mahama in future elections, citing his “bad record” as a reason to look elsewhere for leadership.
