Koku Anyidoho, former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has slammed the party’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, for his recent exchange with New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

In a heated response to Bawumia, who had posed 50 questions regarding the economy after Mahama’s initial five, Mahama fired back, referencing a famous campaign line from Bill Clinton: “It’s about the economy, stupid!” He criticized Bawumia’s questions as juvenile and irrelevant to the urgent economic issues facing Ghanaians.

However, Koku Anyidoho took to social media on October 30, 2024, to argue that Mahama’s quoting of an insult doesn’t validate his stance.

He claimed, “JM has finally fallen off the cliff,” noting the growing support for Bawumia among chiefs and community leaders due to his qualities of decency and humility.

He expressed disappointment over Mahama’s public insults towards the sitting Vice President, emphasizing that this behavior is not reflective of the standards Ghanaians aspire to.

Koku Anyidoho also commented on a prophecy made on October 1, suggesting that since then, Mahama’s situation has only deteriorated.

He criticized Mahama for mindlessly copying phrases without considering cultural context, arguing that true progress demands more than superficial imitation.
