Kwabena Agyepong, former presidential candidate hopeful and General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has laid to rest his mother, Comfort Agyepong, following her passing on February 18, 2025, at the age of 82.

Known affectionately as Adwoa Badu, Comfort was the widow of the late Justice Kwadwo Agyei Agyepong, one of the three Supreme Court judges tragically kidnapped and murdered on June 30, 1982.

Despite facing immense challenges, Comfort single-handedly raised her four children, alongside her husband’s other children, ensuring their education through her Obroni Wawu business.

The emotional funeral, held at the State House forecourt on April 24, 2025, was attended by hundreds of mourners, including family, friends, and well-wishers, as well as prominent NPP figures such as former Presidents Akufo-Addo and John Agyekum Kufuor, and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

The ceremony was filled with heartfelt tributes from her children, grandchildren, and loved ones, all highlighting her resilience, faith, and unwavering strength. The moving service featured hymns, tributes, and a sermon, culminating in a private burial.
