Ghanaian forward Joseph Paintsil has expressed satisfaction with his debut season in Major League Soccer (MLS), describing it as “amazing.”

Paintsil joined the LA Galaxy on a four-year deal after a successful stint with KRC Genk in Belgium. In his first season with the Galaxy, he played a key role in helping the team end their 10-year wait for an MLS Cup title.

“It’s been such an amazing season for me, especially as a first-timer in MLS,” Paintsil said. “It’s not as easy as people think. People say it’s a retirement league, but trust me, a lot of Europeans can go there and flop in the first season.”

He emphasized the league’s growing competitiveness, highlighting the presence of renowned players like Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, Olivier Giroud, and Marco Reus.

“It’s a league that is really serious about making an impact in the world,” he added. “It’s also fantastic to represent myself as a Ghanaian in the MLS.”

While acknowledging the allure of a potential return to Europe, Paintsil emphasized that he will always prioritize making the best decisions for his career.
