Ashanti Regional Minister-Designate, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to President John Mahama for nominating him to lead the Ashanti Region.
Overwhelmed by the honor, Dr. Amoakohene emphasized that the responsibility is a significant one, given the region’s vast importance.
In an interview on Lawson TV/Radio Ghana Se Sen with Kwame Tanko, he reflected on the trust President Mahama has placed in him and his determination to live up to the high expectations.
“Yes, to whom much is given, much is expected, but I am confident that with God’s guidance, we will unite and work toward the betterment of the region,” Dr. Amoakohene said.
The task ahead is challenging, but Dr. Amoakohene is ready to rise to the occasion, stating, “If a child learns how to wash his hands, he dines with elders. I will work closely with the youth to leave a lasting legacy as the youngest Ashanti Regional Minister ever.”
He reaffirmed his commitment to representing not only President Mahama’s vision but also Asanteman and the youth, ensuring a future of growth and prosperity for the region.
President John Dramani Mahama has nominated 10 regional ministers.
A formal request has been submitted to Parliament for vetting and confirmation of the nominees, signaling a key step in strengthening regional governance.
The list of nominees spans several regions:

- Volta: James Gunu
- Eastern: Mrs. Rita Akosua Adjel Awatey
- North-East: Ibrahim Tia
- Ashanti: Dr. Frank Amoakohene
- Upper East: Akamugri Donatus Atanga
- Ahafo: Charity Gardiner
- Savannah: Salisu Bi-Awuribe
- Greater Accra: Linda Ocloo, MP
