The Electoral Commission (EC) is stepping up its efforts to ensure a flawless electoral process in 2024, reaffirming its commitment to public trust and democratic integrity.
To further strengthen the accuracy of election results, the EC has recruited over 200 highly skilled professionals with expertise in mathematics, statistics, and related fields.
These new recruits will play a pivotal role in improving the collation of election data, ensuring transparency, and reinforcing the reliability of the final results.
In a media briefing on November 5, Dr. Eric Bossman Asare, the EC’s Deputy Chairperson, outlined the Commission’s meticulous preparations for the upcoming elections, emphasizing the importance of precision and clarity in the electoral process.
Dr. Asare noted that these professionals will assist returning officers at the constituency level, applying their advanced analytical skills to support the collation process. The move aims to prevent any errors, big or small, that could undermine public confidence in the election outcomes.
In total, the EC has recruited more than 280,000 individuals for various roles in the election, with the additional focus on securing accurate data through these specialized hires. This strategic investment in expertise aims to ensure that the 2024 election is as transparent and credible as possible.
