ECG to Launch “Operation Keep the Lights On” on January 15 to Ensure Compliance and Recover Arrears

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) is set to launch its “Operation Keep the Lights On” from January 15 to January 31, 2025, across all its service areas.

This initiative focuses on recovering outstanding debts, inspecting prepaid meters, and enforcing disconnection regulations.

ECG warned that self-reconnection is illegal, citing Legislative Instrument (LI) 2413, and urged customers to fully cooperate during the operation. To prioritize this effort, the company’s regional and district offices will provide only essential services during the period.

ECG emphasized its right to legally access installations and called on the public to support the initiative for improved service delivery.
