The Electoral Commission (EC) has reported a shortage of Presidential and Parliamentary ballot papers in five constituencies across the Volta Region.

The affected constituencies are Keta, Ketu North, Ho Central, Hohoe, and Ho West. In response, the EC has taken immediate action, announcing plans to print additional ballots at Acts Commercials Printing House in Accra.

In an official communication to the representatives of all presidential candidates, the EC outlined its strategy to address the shortfall. The Commission assured that additional ballots would be printed and distributed in time for the election, ensuring no disruptions to the electoral process.

To ensure transparency and accountability, the EC has invited all political parties and independent presidential candidates to send two representatives each to observe the printing process. This will provide independent oversight and confirm that the ballots are being printed accurately and in compliance with the law.

The observation will take place on Friday, November 29, at 10:00 AM. Samuel Tettey, the EC’s Deputy Chairman of Operations, reassured the public that the Commission is taking all necessary measures to uphold the integrity of the upcoming election.

Mr. Tettey emphasized the EC’s commitment to delivering a free, fair, and credible election, stressing that the ballot paper shortage will be resolved promptly to ensure a smooth election process without further complications.
