The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has officially handed over the final voters’ register to political parties, marking a crucial step towards the December 7, 2024 elections.
The updated register now contains the names of all eligible voters for the upcoming elections.
During a meeting with political party representatives in Accra on Wednesday, November 6, EC Chairperson Jean Mensa emphasized the importance of the register in ensuring a transparent and credible electoral process.
“We had previously indicated at the October 15 IPAC meeting that this presentation would take place by the end of the first week of November. By the grace of God, we have managed to complete this process two days ahead of schedule,” she noted.
Following the exhibition of the revised Preliminary Voters’ Register (PVR), the EC received 158 queries from voters across the country. Mensa assured the public that all issues have now been resolved. “We are pleased to confirm that there are no outstanding concerns regarding the final register. What we now have is a robust, credible, and certified voters’ register that will ensure a fair, peaceful, and transparent election on December 7, 2024,” she added.
