Chief Justice Gertrude Torkonoo has officially written to President John Dramani Mahama, requesting copies of petitions seeking her removal from office.

Her request follows the president’s decision to forward three petitions to the Council of State for advice, in line with constitutional procedures.

In her letter, Justice Torkonoo emphasized the need for due process and insisted on receiving the petitions to enable her to respond adequately. She urged the president and the Council of State to grant her at least seven days to submit her response before any further action is taken.
