Alex Ntiamoah, CEO of Box Office Promotions, has expressed strong support for the appointment of Nii Lante Vanderpuye as the Sports and Recreation Minister, praising his ability to “break the unscrupulous cartel” involved in the mismanagement of government funds.

Vanderpuye, who previously held the position before the 2016 change of government, has been nominated as part of President John Mahama’s latest ministerial appointments.

In an exclusive interview, Ntiamoah expressed confidence that Vanderpuye would be able to drive significant change in Ghana’s sports sector. He emphasized that Vanderpuye’s leadership would benefit not only football but also boxing and other underfunded sports.

“I recommend Nii Lante Vanderpuye because he has the ability to help not only football but also boxing and other less-financed sports. I believe he can deliver,” Ntiamoah said. “President Mahama has promised to ensure that government funds are used wisely, and I believe Vanderpuye can break the cartel that spends government money unscrupulously and make sure it’s used to benefit the country.”

Vanderpuye, a former Member of Parliament for the Odododiodio Constituency, is known for his passion for boxing and believes that the sport holds more potential than football. If appointed as Sports Minister, he has pledged to “sanitize football” following allegations of corruption and embezzlement at the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
