Ghana Struggles to Convert Chances as Tactical Sudan Steals a Point

Story Highlights
  • Black Stars were held to a 0-0 draw by Sudan
  • Black Stars couldn't convert their chances and faced a well-organized Sudan defence
  • Ghana currently sits third in Group F

The Black Stars of Ghana couldn’t break the deadlock against Sudan, finishing their 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifier in a goalless tie at the Accra Sports Stadium on October 10, 2024.

Despite some promising opportunities from Antoine Semenyo, the team failed to convert their chances into goals.

Captain Mohammed Kudus was instrumental in creating opportunities, yet he too was unable to find the net during Ghana’s dominant performance.

Sudan, managed by Kwasi Appiah, executed a solid defensive strategy that successfully thwarted Ghana’s attacks, earning them a crucial draw.

With just two points, Ghana now sits in third place in Group F, making their path to qualification increasingly challenging. Angola leads the group with six points, followed by Sudan at four.

The Black Stars will seek redemption in the return leg against Sudan on October 15, 2025, set to take place in Libya.
