A fire at the Kwashieman Cluster of Schools early this morning has caused alarm, as it damaged ballot boxes from the Ablekuma North constituency. The blaze, which began around 1:40 a.m. in the school’s library, destroyed the election materials stored there.

While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, authorities have confirmed that additional burned ballot papers were found outside the school grounds. This discovery has raised questions about the fire’s circumstances.

Firefighters, led by operations commander and his team, worked swiftly to contain the blaze, preventing it from spreading to nearby buildings.

After two hours of intense firefighting, the fire was largely contained, but not yet fully extinguished. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the damage to the election materials.
