NPP Vows to Defend Ashanti Region Against Any Attempted Election Disruptions by NDC

A Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ernest Owusu-Bempah, has vehemently stated that the ruling NPP will match the National Democratic Congress (NDC) boot for boot if they attempt to disrupt the election in the Ashanti Region.
Owusu-Bempah’s statement comes in response to the National Communication Officer of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi, who claimed during a press briefing on Tuesday, November 19, that Brigadier General Michael Kwadwo Opoku, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Central Command of the Ghana Armed Forces, is the mastermind behind a scheme to rig the 2024 elections.
Speaking on the Election Home program on Lawson TV/Radio on Wednesday 20/11/2024. Owusu-Bempah said that whenever the NDC wants to carry out any plans, they hastily announce them.
He added that the NDC has a committee called “Ways and Means,” and the NPP has intercepted audios, pictures, and videos of their meetings in the Ashanti Region, where they are allegedly plotting to cause disturbances.
He asserted that the NDC has already realized they have lost the election in advance, which is why they are making so much noise.
He cautioned the NDC not to attempt anything foolish in the Ashanti Region, warning that it would be disastrous for them.
“If they are not careful, it will be like a rapture for them. If they want, they should try anything silly in the Ashanti Region, and they will see. If they try, they should prepare to sign their own obituary. This is not the old NPP,” he told Kwame Tanko.
Owusu-Bempah continued, “We will not allow anybody to destroy the peace we have in the country. No one can intimidate people in the Ashanti Region and get away with it.”
He emphasized that the election will be peaceful and that no miscreant or idiot will be allowed to misbehave in the Ashanti Region.
“The election will be peaceful. No miscreant, no idiot can come out and misbehave in the Ashanti Region. If they try, they will see. I know the NDC’s tactics better than anyone in the country. They should just tell Ghanaians why they should vote for them. The NPP is focused on propagating our message to Ghanaians so that they will vote for us,” he said.
