A devastating fire outbreak at Atonsu Bokuro in the Asokwa Municipality of the Ashanti Region has claimed the life of a 17-year-old boy identified as Jerry.

The incident, which occurred around 8:30 a.m. on Monday, November 18, also destroyed multiple properties. According to reports by Citi News, Jerry was asleep when the fire engulfed one of the rooms.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) successfully brought the blaze under control, but firefighters faced challenges accessing the building, as disclosed by Asokwa Municipal Fire Commander Bernard Nyemi-Tei.

The Ghana Police Service has transported the deceased’s body to the mortuary.
