Arab and Muslim leaders are preparing to convene a summit in Saudi Arabia to address the ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon, as reported by Saudi state media.
The summit, announced by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will take place on Monday following the initial meeting of an “international alliance” advocating for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, Israel’s “aggression” in both Gaza and Lebanon has prompted Arab and Islamic leaders to take urgent action.
The summit will prioritize halting the violence, protecting civilians, supporting the Palestinian and Lebanese populations, unifying positions, and pressing the international community to take decisive measures to end the attacks and establish lasting peace and stability in the region.
Footage broadcast by the Saudi state-run Al Ekhbariya news channel showed Nigerian President Bola Tinubu and Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati arriving in Riyadh for the summit on Sunday evening.
Other notable attendees will include Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
