John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), asserts that President Nana Akufo-Addo is aware of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) likely defeat in the upcoming December elections.
Speaking at a campaign rally in Biakoye, Oti Region, on November 4, Mahama pointed to recent comments from the President, suggesting a shift in attitude that indicates preparations for a transition of power.
Mahama highlighted Akufo-Addo’s recent pledge for a peaceful transfer of power, interpreting it as an acknowledgment that the NPP may be on the losing end.
He emphasized the importance of voting for the NDC, promising accountability for those who have misappropriated public funds. “Dr. Bawumia cannot hold them accountable.
That’s why he hesitated to hand over power to me. But now, he seems to realize the NPP is set to lose, and he knows I’m coming back to the Jubilee House,” Mahama stated.
