Prince Acheampong, widely known as ‘Tactical Sabuto,’ has passed away at the age of 52 after battling an illness.

The head coach of King Faisal FC was appointed on January 5, 2025, to steer the club out of their poor form in the ongoing 2024/25 Division One League season. Unfortunately, his health deteriorated, and he was hospitalized for three weeks before his demise on Tuesday afternoon.

Acheampong, a CAF License A holder, was renowned for his tactical prowess.

He served as the assistant coach of Asante Kotoko during the 2010/11 season and had stints with Dunkwa United and Fabulous Ladies FC.

On the school football scene, he achieved notable success, guiding T.I. Ahmadiyya SHS to consecutive Ashanti Regional Inter-School Championships from 2016 to 2018 and leading Opoku Ware School to a third-place finish in 2024.

His death marks a significant loss to Ghana football.
