24-Hour Economy Policy a Hollow Promise Without Funding – Dr. Amin Adam
Former Finance Minister questions the practicality of the 24-hour economy plan, citing a lack of funding and concrete strategy.

Former Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam has cast doubt on the feasibility of the Mahama administration’s 24-hour economy policy, claiming that the 2025 Budget lacks a clear plan and financial backing for its execution.
Touted as a strategy to boost employment and productivity, the policy has been referenced in the budget without a concrete implementation roadmap or designated funding. Dr. Amin Adam criticized the absence of a detailed program, arguing that without a clear execution plan, the initiative appears impractical.
“The budget only makes references to the 24-hour economy without any actionable plan or funding. If there is no allocation, how do you implement it? Are we launching it just to wait until 2026 for funding?” he questioned.
Dr. Amin Adam’s skepticism adds to the broader debate about the credibility of the 24-hour economy policy and its potential impact on Ghana’s economic growth.
