Johnson Asiedu Nketiah National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has urged party supporters to celebrate John Dramani Mahama’s re-election with caution and responsibility.

He stressed the importance of maintaining peace and safeguarding Ghana’s democratic stability during this critical period.

Speaking after the Electoral Commission declared Mahama as President-Elect on December 9, Asiedu Nketiah warned against actions that could create unrest or dissatisfaction among Ghanaians. He called on party members to focus their efforts on fulfilling campaign promises and driving national development under Mahama’s leadership.

Asiedu Nketiah reiterated the NDC’s commitment to promoting national unity and inclusivity as the party prepares to assume governance.

“We must be modest in our celebrations,” he said. “I can feel the weight of responsibility upon us. Ghanaians have entrusted us with the mandate for national reconstruction. We cannot afford to disappoint them. Let’s shorten our celebrations and start serious planning for Ghana’s recovery.”
