The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has received an additional GH₵35 million from the government.
The additional money is aimed at enhancing the smooth continuation of the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) marking process.
The Ministry of Education’s financial support is designed to alleviate challenges faced by WAEC, helping to expedite the release of results. This new injection comes after an earlier GH₵50 million was released to help offset part of the GH₵118 million owed to the Council.
John Kapi, WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs, confirmed the release to Adom News, expressing optimism that with the current funding, the results will be ready by the end of December 2024, much sooner than initially expected.
