A motorcycle theft turned deadly in the Agona West District of the Central Region, leaving one suspect dead and another in critical condition.
The suspects stole the motorbike at Agona Kwanyarko and fled, but were pursued by local okada riders.
Police sources say the suspects had hired the motorbike for a trip to Obrachire, only to attack the driver and steal the bike midway. They were chased to Awutu Kwame Whettey, where an enraged crowd lynched one of the suspects.
Eyewitnesses report that by the time the police arrived, one suspect was already dead, while the other was in critical condition.
Both individuals were transported to Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital by the Awutu Bereku District Police Command.
