“Victory Is Non-Negotiable” — Asamoah Gyan Pushes Black Stars for WCQ Success
Ghana’s all-time top scorer urges the national team to secure vital victories against Chad and Madagascar.

Ghanaian football legend and former Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan, has urged the national team to elevate their performance ahead of critical 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.
Following a disappointing 2024 campaign marked by only two wins from ten matches and a failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Gyan emphasized the need for a strong response from the team.
“I spoke to the players and told them to do what Ghanaians expect—win these games against Chad and Madagascar,” Gyan said in an interview.
“They know what’s at stake, so they must step up and deliver.”
Currently second in Group I with nine points from four matches, the Black Stars will face Chad on Friday at the Accra Sports Stadium before traveling to Morocco to clash with Madagascar on March 24.
The team is set to continue preparations with training sessions later this week.
