On Monday morning, the headquarters of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) in Kanda, Accra, was attacked by a group of unidentified individuals, allegedly supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
A staff member who witnessed the attack shared details, explaining that the group arrived at the office complex and demanded that everyone vacate the premises.
“The office has been surrounded by thugs, and I don’t know where they’re from. They are harassing everyone,” the employee said. The staff member also claimed that such incidents occur every time there is a change in government, with NADMO officers being attacked without reason. “We came to work this morning, and now the whole place is under siege,” they added.
The eyewitness explained that they had taken refuge in one of the offices to report the incident.
The attackers were reportedly demanding that the office be vacated and the keys to the facility be handed over.
“I had to hide in an office to call you. They’ve taken over the front of our building, and there are a lot of them,” the employee stated.
