Deputy Energy Minister Collins Adomako Mensah has apologized to Ghanaians for the recent power outages, which lasted for about two weeks.

Adomako Mensah clarified that the power disruptions were due to financial challenges with Sunon Asogli Power (Ghana) Limited, not technical issues.

Speaking on Lawson TV/Radio Ghana Se Sen Morning Show with Kwame Tanko, he assured the public that the financial issues have been resolved and there will be no further power cuts.

“Asogli was temporarily shut down due to financial reasons, but it is now fully operational. The discussions between the Ministry and Asogli have produced positive results. I apologize to those who experienced the two-week power outage,” he explained.

The Deputy Minister also dismissed claims by former President John Mahama, the NDC’s Presidential Candidate, that the energy sector is failing.

He emphasized that the two hours of dumsor under the NPP government cannot be compared to the three years of outages during Mahama’s tenure.
