Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey came off the bench to score a sensational long-range goal, helping Arsenal secure a commanding 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday.

The 31-year-old’s brilliant strike doubled the Gunners’ lead in the second half at the Emirates Stadium, putting them on course for a much-needed win to boost their title ambitions.

Bukayo Saka opened the scoring after 15 minutes, combining with Martin Ødegaard to beat two defenders before smashing a shot into the top corner.

Partey then added a second for Arsenal, curling in a shot from 20 yards to extend the hosts’ advantage. In the closing stages, teenager Ethan Nwaneri sealed the win with a third goal.

The strike marked Partey’s second of the season in 12 Premier League appearances. This season, the Ghanaian has been a key figure for Arsenal, starting more league games (11) than he did the previous year (9).

With this victory, Arsenal remain in fourth place with 22 points, just one behind second-placed Manchester City, and six points off league leaders Liverpool, who have a game in hand.
