President Akufo-Addo is being urged to consider deploying military support to Parliament if the Minority attempts to create chaos following the Supreme Court’s stay of execution on the Speaker’s ruling declaring four parliamentary seats vacant

Lawmakers from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have insisted that Parliamentary proceedings should remain free from any court or external oversight, deeming such interference unlawful.

In a recent press conference, NDC leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson reaffirmed their commitment to the Speaker’s decision to declare four seats vacant, which would grant them a majority.

This position persists even after the Supreme Court issued a temporary suspension of the Speaker’s declaration.

In response, legal expert Evans Osei Bonsu urged the President to take decisive action and not allow the Minority to dictate terms.

On Lawson TV & Radio’s ‘Ghana Se Sen’ Morning Show, Lawyer Osei Bonsu explained that if the Minority claims majority status and threatens chaos, military presence might be necessary to maintain order.

“Akufo-Addo must implement measures to ensure the law is upheld. All government resources are at the state’s disposal, and the Supreme Court’s ruling must be respected,” he told Kwame Tanko

Lawyer Osei Bonsu questioned the Minority’s stance: “If you disregard the Supreme Court now, where will you turn when faced with legal issues in the future?”

He stressed that Parliament must comply with the ruling instead of politicizing it.
