South Korea has confirmed a new bird flu case near its capital, Seoul, bringing the national total to 14. The outbreak was detected at a poultry farm in Hwaseong, located in the densely populated Gyeonggi province.
The infected farm, which houses 202 chickens and 67 wild geese, reported the case on Sunday.
The country’s Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs Ministry has instructed the farm owner to cull the affected birds to prevent further spread of the highly pathogenic virus.
