SONA 2025: Mahama Should Explain Why There Is Always Dumsor Whenever He Is in Power – Subin MP
Minority demands answers on persistent power outages, rising fuel prices, and government spending—warns of strong reaction if concerns are not addressed.

- Minority questions why power outages always occur under Mahama’s leadership
- Opposition demands answers on frequent fuel increases every two weeks
- Mahama must justify over GHC 50 billion in loans since taking office
The Minority in Parliament has called on President John Dramani Mahama to explain why Ghana experiences persistent power outages (dumsor) whenever he is in office.
Speaking ahead of Mahama’s highly anticipated State of the Nation Address (SONA) today, Thursday, February 27, the Minority warned that they would not stay silent if the address fails to address their concerns.
In an interview on Lawson TV/Radio’s Ghana Se Sen Morning Show, Hon. Frank Obiri Yeboah, Member of Parliament for Subin Constituency, expressed his frustration over the return of dumsor and its impact on Ghanaians.
“Mahama must explain why dumsor always resurfaces whenever he is in power. Just a few days ago, the outage even contaminated my food,” he stated.
He further criticized the government for frequent fuel price hikes, stating that the current trend of increases every two weeks is unbearable.
“Since Mahama took office, his government has collected over 50 billion Ghana cedis in loans. He must account for how this money is being used,” he added.
The Minority also questioned the government’s handling of youth employment, accusing Mahama’s administration of canceling key job appointments despite previous budget allocations.
