Ghanaian Dancehall artist Shatta Wale has revealed the reason behind the delay in settling his legal issues with his former manager, Bullgod.

Bullgod had previously filed a defamation lawsuit against Shatta Wale after an earlier legal dispute last year.

However, during an interview, Shatta explained that the two had agreed to an out-of-court settlement after advice from the judge presiding over the defamation case.

The ‘Ayoo’ hitmaker disclosed that a GH₵100,000 settlement was agreed upon, but the payment has not yet been made.

He explained that the reason for the delay was that Bullgod was unavailable when his team attempted to make the payment.

“Nobody has defaulted in paying Bullgod’s money. He wasn’t in Ghana when we wanted to pay him; he was in America. Now that he’s back in Ghana, he hasn’t reached out to anyone,” Shatta Wale said.

Shatta also mentioned that Bullgod’s decision to revisit the court is unnecessary, claiming that the matter had already been settled. He joked that Bullgod seems to enjoy going to court, saying, “You see Bulldog, if this is his house, this is the court. He wakes up and goes to court anyhow. When a chicken clucks, he goes to court. When a taxi driver toots the horn, he goes to court because his house is just close to the court.”

In late 2022, Bullgod sued Shatta Wale for defamation following the artist’s threats to expose alleged secrets related to the death of the late artist manager Fennec Okyere.

By March 2023, the parties had agreed to an out-of-court settlement, as confirmed by Bullgod’s lawyer, Justice Srem Sai.

However, Shatta Wale has yet to fulfill his promise of paying the agreed legal fee of GH₵100,000 to Bullgod and his legal team.
