Blay Nyameke Armah sets sights on NPP members spreading false cocaine trafficking accusations

- Sekondi MP Blay Armah denies any involvement in the $350 million cocaine bust
- Legal action against NPP members will target those who spread false accusations
- Armah plans to report the matter to the Speaker of Parliament
Blay Nyameke Armah, the Member of Parliament for Sekondi, has pledged to take legal action against members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who have implicated him in a $350 million cocaine bust.
The case follows a recent operation by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), which intercepted a truck at Pedu Junction, Cape Coast, and seized approximately 3.3 tonnes of cocaine hidden beneath sand, en route from the Western Region to Accra.
Since the bust, the Sekondi MP has faced accusations of being linked to the drug operation. However, Mr. Armah, in an interview with Citi News, firmly denied any involvement and announced plans to report the matter to Parliament’s Speaker for a formal investigation.
He stated, “I have no knowledge about anything like that. My first encounter with these allegations was when Hon. Ntim Fordjour mentioned them, suggesting a Parliamentary candidate from the Western Region was involved. Then, on Monday, NPP communicator Lawuratu Musah-Saaka made similar accusations, specifically targeting me.”
Mr. Armah emphasized that his legal action would address all individuals and platforms involved in spreading the false claims. “The writ will target the person who made the allegation, the platform that hosted it, the producer of that platform, and the NPP communicator responsible,” he added.
