Sampa Township Under Curfew Amidst Chieftaincy Disputes
The curfew took effect on Thursday, October 24, 2024, and will be in place every day from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. until further notice

Interior Minister Henry Quartey has enacted a curfew for Sampa Township in the Jaman North District of the Bono Region via an Executive Instrument.
The curfew took effect on Thursday, October 24, 2024, and will be in place every day from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. until further notice, as advised by the Bono Regional Security Council in response to ongoing chieftaincy disputes.
The government is calling on Chiefs, community leaders, youth, and residents to maintain calm and pursue peaceful, non-violent resolutions to the issues at hand.
Additionally, a strict ban on the possession of arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons within Sampa has been announced. Violators will face arrest and prosecution.
