As President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo approaches the end of his second term, he has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Ghana for entrusting him with the nation’s highest office over the past eight years.

Reflecting on his presidency, President Akufo-Addo shared insights on the challenges and accomplishments that have defined his tenure.

He highlighted the progress Ghana has made under his leadership, emphasizing the importance of unity and collective effort in advancing the nation.

His journey to the presidency was marked by resilience; after two closely contested elections in 2008 and 2012, he successfully ran for office in 2016 on a platform focused on economic reform, anti-corruption, and national development

His victory over then-incumbent John Dramani Mahama fulfilled a lifelong dream rooted in his dedication to public service. In 2020, he was re-elected, which he interpreted as a strong endorsement of his leadership.

In his message, President Akufo-Addo conveyed his appreciation for the support he has received from Ghanaians throughout his two terms, during which he faced both achievements and challenges.

“As I near the end of my time in office, I want to take a moment to express my deep gratitude to you, the people of Ghana, for giving me the opportunity to serve as your president for two consecutive terms,” he said. “This journey has been both challenging and rewarding, and I am immensely proud of all we have accomplished together in agriculture, governance, and the lives we have touched.”
