The Ghana Police Service has swiftly interdicted Detective Corporal Baba Amando Ibrahim from the Tuna Police Station in the Savannah Region due to allegations of professional misconduct.
This decision comes in response to the widespread circulation of a video that shows the officer assaulting a member of the public.
The interdiction aims to ensure a thorough investigation into the incident, in accordance with Police Service Regulations.
In a statement, the Police Service indicated that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has personally contacted the victim’s family to offer support.
The IGP has also instructed the Savannah Regional Police Commander to work closely with the family to appropriately address the situation.
