The Ghana Police Service has initiated an investigation into an alleged attack on the convoy of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, in Techiman, Bono East Region, on Monday, December 2, 2024.
Preliminary reports from the police indicate that the incident took place as the Asantehene was returning from a funeral in Nkoranza.
A group of youth, believed to be from Techiman, reportedly threw stones at vehicles within the convoy, causing significant disruption.
The police have confirmed that they are working in collaboration with the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi and local authorities in Techiman to gather more information and address the situation.
