The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has called on all political parties to accept the results of the upcoming December elections.
Chairperson Jean Mensa assured the public that comprehensive measures have been put in place to ensure the elections are peaceful, free, fair, and transparent.
Speaking at the signing of the 4th Presidential Election Peace Pact in Accra on Thursday, November 28, Mensa urged confidence in the electoral process, emphasizing the need for a stable and peaceful environment during the elections.
She reaffirmed the EC’s commitment to promoting peace throughout the election period, expressing full confidence in the Commission’s ability to conduct a stable, violence-free election.
Jean Mensa emphasized that the EC is focused on transparency, fairness, and accountability, which are essential for gaining public trust and ensuring a credible election outcome.
Mensa urged all stakeholders, including political parties, civil society organizations, and voters, to uphold peace and unity, contributing to a smooth and successful electoral process.
“We have walked the talk of peace, and attaining peaceful electoral outcomes will depend on our actions,” she said, noting that the EC has consistently worked to ensure peace before, during, and after the elections.
