- Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng firmly states the alleged raid was not conducted by the OSP
- The OSP suggests the raid was staged or carried out by imposters to discredit the office
- The former Finance Minister is a suspect in four major corruption probes
The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has categorically denied any involvement in an alleged raid on the residence of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.
Reports claim that on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, a group of individuals dressed in military uniforms stormed Ofori-Atta’s home in Cantonments while he was abroad.
Ofori-Atta is said to have been in the United States since early 2025 for medical reasons, after officially notifying the Chief of Staff about his travel.
Addressing the press on Wednesday, February 12, Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng dismissed the allegations, asserting that the OSP was not responsible for the raid.
“Mr. Ofori-Atta, the OSP did not raid your house on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, or on any other day. That could not have been the OSP, and that is not our style. If the OSP enters your premises, you will not be in doubt as to where the OSP had come from,” Agyebeng clarified.
He emphasized that the OSP operates with transparency and follows distinct procedures to ensure its actions are unmistakably official.
The Special Prosecutor suggested that the incident was staged or orchestrated by imposters attempting to undermine the OSP’s credibility and derail ongoing investigations.
“Our intelligence points us to state that the purported raid of Mr. Ofori-Atta’s residence was staged or, at best, an imposter action aimed at discrediting the OSP and derailing the investigation. The OSP remains undeterred, and our work will continue according to the law,” Agyebeng affirmed.
In a related development, the OSP has declared Ken Ofori-Atta a suspect in four major corruption investigations, including matters concerning the National Cathedral project and Strategic Mobilization Limited (SML), among others.
