In a dramatic showdown filled with passion, skill, and electrifying energy, Obo emerged victorious in the grand finale of the Lawson Media 2025 Kwahu Easter Gala.

Obo defeated Obomeng 5-4 on penalties after a fiercely contested battle on the Obomeng Astroturf.

The match, which kept spectators on the edge of their seats, ended in a stalemate in regulation time, leading to a tense penalty shootout.

The decider came when Mireku Evans of Obomeng — who had dazzled the crowd with his exceptional performance throughout the tournament — missed a crucial spot-kick, allowing Obo to seal the win.

Despite the heartbreak, Obomeng had several standout performers. Among them was the talented “Kiss Me,” whose relentless effort and creativity helped drive Obomeng to the finals.

On the Obo side, Tawiah Christian put on a phenomenal display, playing a pivotal role in his team’s journey to the ultimate prize.
Both teams gave a solid account of themselves, showcasing skill and determination that proved exactly why they were the finalists in this highly anticipated tournament.

For their efforts, Obomeng received a cash prize of GHC 2,000, medals, and three cartons of Lawson De Ray Man Bitters.
The champions, Obo, walked away with GHC 3,000, medals, and three cartons of the same sponsor product, amidst wild celebrations from their supporters.

The Obomeng Astroturf was packed with football lovers, with the home crowd and traveling fans from Obo creating an electrifying atmosphere.
The event brought together communities and highlighted the unity and competitive spirit of Kwahu Easter celebrations.

Mr. Isaac Antwi, affectionately known as Gede and the General Manager of Lawson Media, expressed gratitude to all the participating teams and lauded the quality of football on display.

He confirmed that the gala will now be an annual feature on the Easter calendar, stating, “This is just the beginning. The Lawson Media Easter Gala has come to stay.”
The 2025 edition will be remembered not only for its thrilling finale but also for the community spirit and sportsmanship it inspired.
