The National Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have extended a helping hand to victims of the devastating Adum Blue Light inferno in Kumasi by donating a cash amount of GHc 100,000.

The tragic fire, which destroyed numerous shops and properties, has left traders in the area in a state of shock and distress.

The donation was made during a visit by the NPP executives, led by the General Secretary of the party, Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua.

Speaking to the media, Lawyer Kodua expressed deep sorrow over the disaster, describing it as a very sad and unfortunate incident for the affected traders and the community.

“This is a sad day for the traders who have lost their livelihoods in this fire. It is heartbreaking to see the destruction and the impact it has had on their businesses. On behalf of the NPP, we are here to offer our support,” said Lawyer Kodua.

In addition to the immediate financial support, Lawyer Kodua appealed to the government to provide seed capital to help the affected traders rebuild their stores.

He emphasized the need for long-term assistance, which would allow the traders to recover and restore their businesses to full operation.

“We are committed to standing with these traders in their time of need. This is just the beginning. The NPP will continue to support them, and we will return with further donations to help ease their burden,” he assured.

The General Secretary was joined by other key members of the NPP, including the National Organizer, Henry Nana Boakye, the Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi), Ashanti Regional Organizer, Dr. Francis Adomako, and the Youth Organizer, Raphael Patrick Sarfo.

Together, they visited the market site, which had been severely impacted by the fire, and offered their condolences and support to the victims.

The NPP’s gesture of donating GHc 100,000 to the victims of the fire is seen as a demonstration of solidarity and a call for collective effort in rebuilding the affected community.

As the situation unfolds, the traders and residents of Kumasi are hopeful that more support will be mobilized to help them recover from the devastating fire.
