The General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, has revealed that the party will soon begin a nationwide “Thank You” tour, set to kick off next week, following their defeat in the 2024 general elections.

During a press conference on Wednesday, April 16, Mr. Kodua emphasized that the tour would focus on showing gratitude to the party’s members and supporters across the country.

“We will embark on this Thank You tour, giving thanks to God for everything,” he said, highlighting the importance of gratitude despite the election results.

The tour will include both Christian and Muslim thanksgiving services, with the leadership and campaign team traveling nationwide to connect with party faithful. Mr. Kodua added, “You will see the party’s leadership, including those from the 2024 campaign, engaging with our supporters around the country as part of this initiative.”

Additionally, the NPP will launch a membership drive as part of efforts to reorganize and strengthen its base for future endeavors. Specific details regarding the drive will be shared by regional branches.

Kodua urged party members to maintain unity and avoid making reckless public comments. “We are one family, and unity is paramount. It’s important that we be mindful of our words. It’s not about pointing fingers or making accusations,” he stated.

He also called for patience as the party’s leadership reviews a report from a 12-member committee on the election defeat. “The report is in, but we have yet to deliberate on it. Members should be cautious in their public discussions until we have a clearer picture,” he advised.

The NPP leadership assured supporters that a comprehensive roadmap for the party’s future activities would soon be unveiled. “Stay tuned for more details. We have a plan in place, and soon, we’ll share our upcoming timetable with everyone,” Kodua concluded.
