After 24 years, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has recaptured the Assin Central parliamentary seat.
NDC’s parliamentary candidate, Nurien Shaibu Migyimah, emerged victorious, breaking the constituency’s long-standing hold by the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Kennedy Agyapong, the long-serving MP, did not contest the election, and the NPP candidate, Gofred Nti Anewu, failed to retain the seat for the ruling party.
