MTN Ghana Spreads Joy to 22 Christmas Day Babies with Hampers
Telecom Giant Celebrates the Season of Giving with Nationwide Donations to New Mothers

In a heartwarming gesture, MTN Ghana, the leading telecommunications network, celebrated the arrival of 22 babies born on Christmas Day at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.
The newborns’ mothers, beaming with joy, received hampers filled with essential baby care items, including clothing, diapers, and detergents.
Mrs. Charity Darko, Corporate Affairs Manager, MTN Northern Business District, encouraging the girls, spoke to journalists about the donation, highlighting that 17 hospitals in the Northern Sector benefited from the initiative, with a total of 260 hampers distributed.
Nationwide, she noted, the exercise saw 600 hampers distributed across 30 hospitals.
Mrs. Charity Darko added that since 2011, MTN Ghana has distributed an impressive 3,500 hampers to babies born on Christmas Day, demonstrating the company’s commitment to showing love and care to new mothers and their babies.
She emphasized that Christmas is a time for joy and giving, and MTN Ghana was happy to contribute to the special day.
Gifty Serwaa Adu, Nurse Manager at ONG, expressed her gratitude to MTN for the thoughtful gesture, noting that it would help alleviate financial burdens on new mothers.
She revealed that many mothers face significant challenges in paying their bills after delivery, and the hampers would provide much-needed relief.
