Mahama’s Only Legacy Is Dumsor – Akufo-Addo Fires Again
Akufo-Addo Criticizes John Mahama’s record during Northern Region tour, urging Ghanaians to choose progress over past failures.
- Akufo-Addo claims Mahama is primarily remembered for the severe power crisis during his presidency
- He questions Mahama’s bid for re-election
- The President contrasts Mahama’s record with the lasting contributions of past leaders Rawlings and Kufuor
President Akufo-Addo has taken a sharp jab at John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, during his recent tour in the Northern Region.
He criticized Mahama’s time as president, claiming he has left no significant legacy for Ghanaians, unlike former leaders Jerry John Rawlings and John Agyekum Kufuor.
Akufo-Addo emphasized that Mahama’s administration is primarily remembered for the debilitating power crisis known as “dumsor,” which disrupted both businesses and households across the nation.
He questioned Mahama’s desire to return to power, suggesting that his previous leadership caused more harm than good and warning that another term could bring additional setbacks to Ghana’s development.
In contrast to the lasting contributions of Rawlings and Kufuor, whom he credited with meaningful advancements like the District Assembly concept and the National Health Insurance Scheme, Akufo-Addo painted Mahama’s legacy as one of economic mismanagement and instability.
He urged voters to reject Mahama in the upcoming elections, encouraging them to choose a leader who will propel the country forward rather than revisit past failures.
