Lawyer Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Manhyia South, has urged Ghanaians to reject John Mahama in the upcoming December elections.
Speaking on the Lawson TV/Radio Ghana Se Sen Morning Show with Kwame Tanko, he criticized Mahama for his handling of the country’s power crisis, popularly known as dumsor, which persisted for four years under his administration.
According to Lawyer Baffour Awuah, this reflects a lack of urgency and leadership on Mahama’s part.
He also highlighted Mahama’s poor electoral record, pointing out that apart from Jerry John Rawlings and Atta Mills, Mahama is the only NDC presidential candidate who has never secured 46% of the vote in any election. “Even his own party supporters don’t back him fully,” he remarked.
Lawyer Baffour Awuah accused Mahama of being the only former president to face corruption investigations while seeking re-election.
In contrast, he praised Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as “intelligent, visionary, and energetic,” and called on Ghanaians to forgive any shortcomings of the NPP government and give Bawumia a chance to lead.
“Unlike Mahama, Bawumia has introduced several impactful policies as Vice President,” he added, urging voters to reject Mahama’s bid for a comeback.
