Renowned Ghanaian broadcaster, musician, and cultural icon, Kwame Adinkra, is gearing up for a memorable birthday celebration by releasing a brand-new single titled ‘Meto Wo Kropon’.
The highly anticipated track will be available on all major digital platforms at midnight on December 27th, just hours before his birthday on December 28th.
Known for his smooth voice, engaging storytelling, and deep passion for music, Kwame Adinkra continues to be a dominant force in the Ghanaian entertainment industry.

During his morning show on Pure FM, Kwame expressed his excitement about the upcoming track, describing it as a “special gift to my fans and supporters who have been part of my journey.” He went on to share his creative process behind the song, explaining in a Facebook post:
“My song compositions often begin in my car, inspired by the rhythms and melodies of world music. From there, the journey continues with my collaboration with Mr. Collins Agyemang of Mussive Music, where the creative process truly takes shape. Together, we develop the initial idea, always accompanied by laughter and good food. Collins then assembles a team of skilled professionals to bring the project to life. Once the demo is ready, we listen to it repeatedly, refining it before presenting it to the big boss, Dan Bassey of Bassey House of Music. Collins and Dan have a natural synergy in their collaboration. With his remarkable talent and discerning ear, Bassey offers invaluable feedback. We usually complete the song in his studio, whether through mixing or re-recording the vocals. Depending on the complexity, we take extra time to ensure everything is perfect before release.”
The creation of Meto Wo Kropon followed a similar path, with one key difference—the final mix was completed by Kofi Ackah in Canada. The song also features the exceptional international guitarist, OT Woods, adding another layer of excellence to the production. Kwame expressed his gratitude for everyone involved, saying, “A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed! Meto mo kropon!”
The song is deeply inspired by the powerful significance of naming, whether it’s naming a child or naming towns and cities. Kwame reflects on this theme through the lens of a fascinating historical story:
“Obiri Komfo (Okomfo Anokye), a spiritual leader of the Asante Kingdom, planted two seedlings in two towns within Asante. The one that thrived was named Kumasi, while the one that struggled to grow was named Kumawu. In my song, I reimagine the concept of naming by dreaming of acquiring a vast land where I can build a city and name it after my beloved. Meto wo kropon literally means, ‘I will name a city after you.'”
